Charlotte Berney attended college in San Francisco and lived over 30 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. She wrote features for the magazine, Antiques & Fine Art, based in San Jose, and served as its managing editor. She says of that time, " I was so fortunate in becoming acquainted with living treasures of California art such as John Dominique." She contributed essays to various publications on Millard Sheets, Lee Blair, George Post, Claude Buck, Percy Gray, Armin Hansen, Edgar Payne, William Wendt, and others. While researching art techniques, she decided to try her hand at painting and is now a full time painter.
