About us:
Located in the mid-peninsula town of Burlingame, Kerwin Galleries has been providing original art to Bay Area patrons for over 60 years. Mercedes and Richard Kerwin opened the gallery in 1961 offering framing services and displaying paintings by local artists and original prints. Their focus quickly grew to include Early Californian and Western paintings. Today the gallery has garnered a reputation as a primary source of fine art to collectors, design professionals and individuals who wish to enhance the beauty of their living and work space.
Enriching their inventory of vintage California art are the paintings of John A. Dominique, a Swedish born California Impressionist who was active in California from the 1920s to the 1980s.. The gallery boasts the largest extent collection of this artist's work.
Although the gallery is best known for its selection of historic California art, they also possess one of the country’s largest collections of color etchings by Josef Eidenberger and the Kasimir family of Austria. These intricately detailed renderings of European and American architectural subjects are striking examples of this nearly lost art.
Rounding out the collection are paintings by select contemporary artists, and an extensive collection of American art books. The gallery also offers custom framing and appraisal services.
